Professional Training for Body Therapists:

The Body as a Resource for Healing Trauma
and Character Strategies

Who Should Attend?
| Curriculum

This training is the most transformative process in which I have participated since I studied with Fritz Perls and Ida Rolf, thirty years ago.

— Peter Melchior, Senior Instructor, Guild for Structural Integration

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute offers this adjunct course designed for bodyworkers, movement therapists, yoga teachers, and other somatic therapists who are interested in the SPI approach to body psychology. With its emphasis on developing physical resources to address the effects of developmental and traumatic issues, this course teaches maps and skills for understanding these issues and their impact upon the body and the relationship between therapist and client. Interventions are taught both didactically and experientially and are designed to be integrated with existing body therapy skills. The length of this training is 108 hours, approved for Continuing Education Credits by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Offered in Gainesville, Florida, (108 CE credits, Florida Board of Massage Therapy). To organize a training in your area, contact the SPI office.
