Workshop Detail Boulder, CO Three-day Indicators Intensive with Ron Kurtz MAY 7, 2010 - MAY 9, 2010 A persons emotional history, those events and the aftermath of those events that have created the unconscious habits and beliefs with which that person meets the world is always present and indications of them can be visible to the educated eye. They are written on the persons nonverbal behaviors. They can be seen and heard in the way the person does ordinary things, in the persons style and defining characteristics. We call them indicators and we use them to help the person study who he or she is. This three-day Indicators Intensive will focus on searching for and using nonverbal indicators. Indicators are observable, visible manifestations of underlying, often unconscious, core beliefs. They are qualities that remain fairly constant in a given person, qualities such as angle of the head, shrugging the shoulders reflexively, talking fast or a persons characteristic facial expression. Such indicators often reveal adaptations to situations faced early in life. Indicators provide material through which therapist and client together can access the underlying memories and beliefs that shape the clients everyday actions and thought. In this workshop, we will explore our own indicators and Ron will demonstrate how they can be used to bring the underlying unconscious material into awareness. Ron will also demonstrate full sessions of the Refined Hakomi Method, a rare opportunity to observe Ron at work. The principle elements of the method, loving presence, mindfulness, non¬violence, organicity and unity will be demonstrated. Come Join SPI for a NEW Ron Kurtz Intensive!
