Workshop Detail Atlanta, GA 27th Annual ISSTD Conference OCTOBER 14, 2010 - OCTOBER 15, 2010 The goal of ISSTDs 2010 conference is to study and teach complex posttraumatic and dissociative disorders in a context that emphasizes a warm and collegial exchange of ideas and encourages relationship-building among professionals from around the world. The conference will closely examine the consequences of chronic abuse, neglect, and other forms of repeated trauma especially the new diagnosis of Childhood Developmental Trauma Disorder which is being proposed for DSM-V. The conference will present theory, research, assessment, treatment, and other issues that relate to recovering from complex trauma, abuse, and neglect. Clinicians, researchers, and other interested professionals will learn about the most recent developments in the fields of trauma and dissociation. Preconference workshops meet this goal by providing: (1) Introductory workshops for relative newcomers to complex trauma and dissociation, and (2) Intermediate and Advanced workshops for experienced clinicians already working in this field.
